Thanks for the comments Rick.
I agree that any further repair/restoration other than the stitching would not be a good idea.
I have now done that, and replaced one of the buckles which was missing. The central stitching to separate the pistols is present, and the reason the barrels are touching in the pic is that I pushed them in too far. Also the loop for attaching to a belt is present also.
