Indo-persian spearhead patterned steel?
Hi,
So this is my first time posting. I'd just like an opinion on this spearhead I recently bought at auction. Overall length is 42cm and the socket appears to be brass with traces of silver(?). The blade has some patterning that I'd obviously like to think is wootz, but I'm also not too optimistic, because the workmanship seems a bit too rough in places. Any suggestions would be welcome, thanks! |

There was so much wootz produced in India, that even bladesmiths with less than stellar credentials used it.
Congratulations! Nice spearhead. |

Thanks for all the kind words!
Interesting, I never realised wootz was that common in India at the time. |
