Really long tang !
Perhaps what you have is a forged cable blade with a monosteel tang extension welded on .
The scabbard looks like it was an add on and not original to the blade .
looks like a fun project piece .

I think it will be fun.
The scabbard fits the blade perfectly except for the tang. I wonder if they just got lucky or if maybe they made the knife blade to fit the scabbard.

Prolly just lucky,I am just glad it came with one
