Hello all,
This is my first post to the Keris Forum (I usually hang out over in the Ethnographic area). I recently picked up this Keris, rather cheaply, at a local auction. I am a complete novice when it comes to Keris and would greatly appreciate comments from more learned members. From my readings, the form of the scabbard suggests a Bugis origin. The blade is rather thin and seems a little small for the scabbard. Are the blade and dress a recent marriage? Cheers, Russel |

Hello Russel,
The scabbard & hilt are in Bugis style indeed (odd flat face at the neck on the first pic), but the blade looks Javanese (quite good). Regards |

Thank you Jean,
The flat face on the first pic isn't as pronounced in reality (more an artifact of the my poor photography). |
