Thank you Jose,

I am not sure about the hippo ivory, will try to take better pictures!

The blade still need more cleaning and polishing before it can be etched.

Do you know how to do this sort of binding? Someone other?

The pommel is attached again firmly and I have etched the blade, no twistcore! The lamination confirms nearly the engraving on the blade.
The only thing what still need to do is to blacken the binding at the handle.

Some pommel pictures. Any thoughts about the ivory origin? My guess would be hippo ivory.

seems to be you're amassing quite an arsenal, Detlef! congrats!!! i specially love scabbards similar to the third one from the left. very strong indo influence on that...

Hi Ron, I am sure that I will green with envy when I will see your kris arsenal! The kris with the indo influence was shown here: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...t=archaic+kris Still need to restore the handle.

Hi Detlef - cool archaic! I agree on your observation, that the pommel looks like hippopotamus tusk.
