In January 2005 Dan Wilke and I went shopping in Manila's antique district. (I'm the one wearing the jalapeno shirt and in need of barber!)

Dan (the good looking guy) bought this kampilan which had a bulbous pommel that seemed to have been made that way--no evidence of breakage or repair. If there had been a repair it was done a long time ago. The one I'm holding also had an abbreviated hilt but it had been broken and recarved in the past.

Here is the thread where it was discussed previously and shows much better pictures: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=208
