I get the bow out of a natural history museum. But they had no idea about the origin and age. Length 149 cm Thanks Kurt |

If you have the piece in hand, a profile view of the entire bow (showing how it curves, if at all) would be useful too. Right now, I'll admit it doesn't look familiar.

With that red colour and the copious decoration, my best bet would be from Northern India somewhere, probably 19th century...

The paint work looks like it could be Central Asian perhaps even Mongolia? Archery is a big thing in parts of Central Asia.
