OK, thanks, the wood grain is very nice indeed but its colour appears quite different on the 2 bottom pictures.

Yes Jean, do take into account that not only were these images taken with different camera, but under completely different light sources. Every light has a different color temperature and unless Rasjid is a professional or advanced amateur photographer he is probably just using the auto function on these cameras which are rather hit or miss. Frankly i doubt any of these images give an accurate portrayal of the true color of the wood on this sheath.

Rasjid, what did you use for a finish on the wood ?

Hi Rick,
I give it to the worongko guy, thats the luxury I can get here in Jakarta.
For smaller jobs normally I do it myself.
He told me sanding down the wood with sand paper till 1000 grid, and use shellac + spirtus? Dont know in english

then the long and tiring polishing by hand with the dry powder.
I myself using dried automotive paste, if I do it myself to bring on the natural shine.

I thought it looked like shellac; it gives the best finish imo .
You have a good refinisher; the finish looks lovely .

This sheath was also restored with shellac.
