Yes the screw that holds the tang is in the 'inverted' position, a method also used in early Portuguese examples. I agree that the decoration doesn't look Moorish at all. On the other hand, it is known that the patilla (Miquelet) lock was brought to Italy during Spanish domination ... if i put it correctly. . |
