Hi,
This looks very like an 1809/39 Prussian/Potsdam musket with the percussion conversion. I don't think it is exactly this model but as they are not absolutely identical but close enough to have come from the same parentage. The copperplate style L could indicate one of the Bavarian Ludwigs but I would have thought it would be surmounted by/atop a crown if this were the case. I would suggest it would be worthwhile pursuing the 1809/39 route as it may be a variant for a particular unit e.g pioneers or artillerymen? Hope this is of some help. Regards, Norman. P.S. Images are of the 1809/39 musket. Last edited by Norman McCormick; 3rd October 2012 at 09:53 PM. |
