R for Charles Reeves made for Wilkinson end of 19th c. most likely by Cater.
Reeves produced blades for Wilkinson until 1901, when absorbed into the firm. This example seems unusual in that the etched star of Solomon is not in surround around the proof plug. This is a Rifle Brigade sword and would seem to be an officers model in field service scabbard. |
