Default Wanted Someone to make Scabbards

I am looking for someone who can make some reproduction scabbards for me. The ones I turn out look chunky like some of the contemporary ones. So I am looking for historically accurate ones to be made for dha, parang, piso podang and a tenegre. Obvoiusly on a firefighters salary I will not have them all done at once but over the next few months
Thanks

Rick

Are you sure you want someone to make a scabbard for a kyber knife? Original ones are so cheap that a replica could be far more expensive, cause of the handwork

I want a scabbard for a kilij (pala) sword, but I prefer an original. If someone has one please contact me

Ah Yannis , alas original Khyber scabbards are not readily available in the far Eastern U.S. and I never see only a scabbard for sale on ebay .
It is also a large example .

Default Scabbard for Khyber knife

Here is another customer for a scabbard. I do own a Khyber knife without a scabbard. If a real one is cheap tell me where we can get them. And what is cheap?
Just like Tom and Rick say, can we get a good fitting one? Mine is not very small too. The butcher would envy me for this one

I thought that scabbards of khyber knifes are cheap because... khyber knifes WITH scabbards are cheap

I have seen khyber knifes in Ebay in prices lower than a good new handmade scabbard for a sword.

The problem is that I have not seen scabbards alone

Question

I'm a little puzzled Yannis , a Salawar Yataghan is a cheap knife ?

Even the old examples ?

Well, it depends who sell it and what we mean cheap

After the fall of Taliban regime in Afghanistan a lot of them found their way to western market and the prices have fallen rapidly. Of course it depends of the quality, the condition etc.

I have seen some of them to get very low prices in Ebay. I dont want to write numbers here, but as I said before lower that a custom, hand made scabbard for a sword.

HI folks. I work with all sorts of stuff from all sorts of countries. Have done scabbards for Moro, but even did gilt brass fittings (and hand stitching the velvet cover with yellow metal thread) for a tulwar for some one. Once settled into our new house, will start work again on some dha scabbards. I can work on these, but it may be some time in or after Feb. before I can work on any new orders. With that caveat in mind, I will be willing to work on new stuff.

Note: I always try to do as much ethnographic research as possible on a piece for designs and authenticity. If possible, I even like to email sketches approval before any money or work is exchanged or started. This also includes rough estimate price quotes. My email is:

battara@hotmail.com

If you need pictures of other things I have made, please let me know.
