Keris for comment, and dapur request. Keris madura lok 11, dapur carita Kaprabon?
Hi all, her some photo's of a Keris madura(?), lok 11. I cant figure out what dapur it is. All ricikan i see are... 2 lambe gajah, kembang kacang, Jalen, Sraweyan, Sogokan, Greneng( not sure, worn off), Pijetan, Gusen.
Anny ideas are welcome, so are comments in general. Regards Ab Last edited by kulbuntet; 16th March 2011 at 06:47 PM. |

Hullo Ab,
In the absence of other input so far, here is my twee-duit's worth: It's very difficult to determine the dapur from photos ( It also depends on which protocol you follow). However, from what you say and looking at the photos, perhaps you may wish to look at the following: Sabuk Inten, Carita, Carita Kalentang. Hope it helps, mvg. I am not sure how this keris is attributed to madura.
From the photos, it looks like Mataraman (Senopaten style). Dapur could be Charita Keprabhon or the ones Amuk Murugul suggested. |

There are a couple of problems with this keris, firstly we cannot see if it had greneng or not.
If it had greneng it is either Carita Prasaja, or Carita Keprabon ( Pakem Surakarta) If it did not have greneng it is diluar pakem according to the Surakarta Pakem --- but it could well have an assigned dhapur according to a different pakem. The other problem is the blumbangan:- this is boto adeg A Mataram keris has a square blumbangan, not one like a brick standing on end. Majapahit has boto adeg, so does Surakarta, and Banten may or may not have boto adeg. This is definitely not a Madura keris --- but it does have a nice Madura hilt. Frankly, I'm not prepared to give an opinion on what classification this keris might be, but based upon what I can see I am quite prepared to say what it cannot be, and it cannot be Madura. |

Thank you all for input. If i can be in help to post more photo's or phot of a special detail, please let me now. I named het Keris Madura Dua to the Hilt and Mendak combination, the sarung could be Solo, or other Jawa.. I dont think it's Madura, since i dont know a Madura Waranka like it. Anny extra input and info appriciated. Regards. |
