Default Mysterious Markings on a Kaskara...

This marking really is a new one on me...

It's not a stamp - it's engraved so not a maker's mark. Identical on both sides.

The sword is a quite heavy-bladed one, doesn't seem that old but as you can see, a particularly nice crossguard.

Any ideas about the curious mark?
