				 | New keris

Yesterday, I attended an auction and bought this keris. According to the auctioneer it comes from South-Sumatra. In my opinion it's a Bugis style keris. It has a plain wooden sheath and a 7 luk blade showing pamor. Total length is 41 cm. The blade itself measures 26,2 cm. What intrigues me with this piece is the hilt. It is beautifully carved and has a more slender shape then I'm used to see with Bugis kerises. Anyway, my other Bugis pieces have a more robust hilt. Can anyone else enlighten me ? Dapur ? Pamor ? Origin of this keris ? |
