A Tenegre, (or bolo or sundang) for comment
A Philippine sword. 25 1/2" overall length, 1 lb. 10 oz in weight. Pattern welded blade is beveled on one side only. The flat side of the blade has a higher carbon content piece of steel forge welded to it. The edge of the blade would always have some of this, even after sharpening. Hilt is wood with brass ferrules front and back. Iron or steel forged guard. Very well made overall. Tip had some damaged that required some hammer and file work. The first 2" of the tip is not as hard as the rest. Bent is better than broken maybe?
Which part of the PI do you think it's from, Negros? Thanks for looking, Steve |
