Thumbs up African adze

In another thread, I mentioned that I found an african adze which was sold as a statue

http://cgi.benl.ebay.be/ws/eBayISAPI...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1

When I looked at the picture of the auction, I saw something at the back of this statue. It could be a shadow, so I asked the seller if, by any chance, there was a metal blade......and there was.

I didn't hesitate and bought the piece right away.

Turned out that I was right. It was an african adze with a figural handle. The handle depicts a woman. The seller told me the statue was 'Mnweysi' . I'm not sure about the origin, but it could be 'Nyamwesi' from Tansania.

I would appreciate any comment.
