Default SE Asian sword ?origin

This one seems odd to me. Perhaps others have seen a similar example.

The hilt appears to be turned wood with a plain iron ferrule. The blade is slightly curved and widens towards the tip. The end has a series of carved curves. The latter remind me of some Malay choppers that have similar decorative ends.

I don't have the item readily to hand, but from memory the overall length was about 25 inches.

Comments and thoughts welcome.
