Batangas bolo!
New addition to the collection. Hoping to get some input on this. Carabao hilt, through-tang (peened over), brass ferrule. Leather sheath with attached belt. Blade has angled tip but not sharply angled like a tabak or “katana”.
Based on other threads (http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...t=Finger+notch for example) I believe the origin is Luzon, Batangas. Shows some characteristics of Ilokano work? Age probably post-1945? Thanks! Dimensions: 56 cm overall length, 42 cm by 4+ cm blade. |
