Default Restoration: Austrian Infantry Troopers Saber M1851

I decided to restore an antique Austrian infantry "Mannschaftssäbel M1851" as far as it´s possible and fitting for its strong corrosion.
It has been found in an attic, astonishing since the corrosion is so massive!

What do you think of the result? The backstrap and ring have still to be cleaned.

Any ideas or experience on how to peen the tang again to make it as durable as possible? I have opened the saber by drilling the original peening as economical as possible. Cave: I have no smithy.
