Default Talibon for comment

Hello,

I just bought my first filipino weapon, what looks to be a talibon. It doesn't look too old, made within the last 50 years I guess. The scabbard is somewhat damaged and the rattan? wrapping is undone. The blade looks nice and thick, with a small bend at the tip. It is 17 1/2 inches long, including the handle. These are the seller's pics as I haven't received it yet.
Could anyone offer some comments on age/provenance and repair methods?

Thanks and regards,
Manolo
