Default Fireman's Dagger

Unusual dagger I just acquired. Appears to be a Fireman's Dagger from Barcelona. 29cm. overall. Blade reminds me of a Corsican Vendetta dagger, the grip is full exposed tang carved into what looks like a helmeted Firefighter. Scabbard throat says Barcelona under what looks like the start of the Spanish word for fireman, Bombero (or Bombers in Catalan). Bit crude carving, I suspect the 'artist' was portraying a fireman, rather than this being one issued to firefighters. Possibly presented to or owned by one tho. Age? your guess as good as mine... Is it possible the grip started life a bit different-looking before the carver carved it some more?

Any info or comments welcomed.
