Default A Ceremonial (Tourist ?) Indian Khukri

I received this khukri yesterday, and I am wondering: did those have any ceremonial use, similar to that of temple swords and sacrificial koras, or were they just meant for export to the West as Eastern curiosities in the late 19th century?
