Default Another Bulova/Bullova

Just acquired this bullova from a sikh aquaintance at a very reasonable price.
made sometime last century.

1"x32" (2.5cm x 81.28cm)bamboo or rattan haft, 9.5" (24cm) blade, top and bottom haft metal sections are not steel (no-magnetic), maybe plated brass?. bottom grip section is chequered for about an inch, with incised grooves either side. the top metal part has a cap with a central 1/4" (6.4mm) flush steel section i believe is a spike into the centre of the haft, which leads me to think it is rattan rather than hollow bamboo.

blade is made of 'sarbloh', a sikh term for any kind of pure iron thru to crucible and/or high carbon steel, is about 3/8 in 9.5mm) thick at the eye join, where it is inserted into the arms of an open U then hammer welded. the blade then tapers to the sharp edge. weight is a hefty 994 grams (2.19lb.)
