Default FS: 17th C. European Sabre

North European sabre dated to mid 1600s. Also known as a campaign sword or walloon sword. Possibly used in the thirty years war. The blade has a number of makers marks that make the blade much nicer than a normal sword of this type. One of the plate guards has been replaced due to heavy use, likely during it's working life. This is very normal for these types of swords since they were military weapons seeing heavy combat. Does not appear to have ever been taken apart or heavily cleaned. The blade is double edge in the last 10-12 inches and is still quite sharp with a couple impact marks from battle.

I purchased it from the Hermann Historica. It is listed as Lot 3365 in auction #70. http://www.hermann-historica.de/aukt...db=kat70_a.txt

$980 plus shipping. Located in Texas. PM or email toledo321 at aol.com
