Thumbs up Mortal Kombat and SEA Martial Arts

...so here i was, bored out of my head. i decided to play with my *ahem* sons' playstation2 and popped in Mortal Kombat: Deception, the latest in the series, well almost. anywho, as i was browsing at each fighter's martial arts skills (each fighter has two types of martial arts and a weapon skill), i was surprise to see a fighter named Ashrah using Kriss (yup, that's how it's spelled) as her weapon. so i picked her as a fighter and immediately goes to the weapon mode. lo and behold, here she was holding a Moro Junggayan Kris! i was floored! traditionally, video games with weapons added are either using japanese (katana, sai, etc.) chinese (jian, dao, etc) or fantasy swords.

on the sidenote, a fighter named Baraka practices silat, fighter named Dairou practices Escrima (empty hands), and another fighter named Kobra uses Kali sticks (that's what the game call it) for weapon, who, if the right button sequence are pushed does a Siniwali on the opponents head. go figure...

that is all
