Default Saudia ~ Two Saudia Daggers.

Salaams all, Here are two daggers from Saudia. Newish. On standard working leather belts. Typical sand cast silver work of the region. We get the occasional travelling salesman dropping in with either a bag load of stuff and sometimes a truckful...It is the way trading has always been done and in Buraimi which in the old days was an Oasis on the slave and trade route to all stations Muscat and Oman and Arabia by camel train to Saudia and the Red Sea ~ this was an ancient stopover.

The Photos show the larger "Sabiki" weapon and the slimmer "Shabriyya"
I looked into library resources as usual before submitting this article and http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...rabian+daggers is a relevant thread with nice older examples.

Regards,
Ibrahiim al Balooshi.
