Small Chopper Identification
Dear All,
For identification: A Small Chopper Total length - 13inches (332mm) Blade length - 4.5inches (115mm) Polished steel blade, brass collar and fittings, with a highly polished horn haft. I bought this last year in the UK, and at the time categorised it as South Indian. However, it's not like any South Indian weapon I have handled before. Of course there is a possibility it was made by one of the South Indian knife factories that produced blades for English knives such as Salem, but I have nothing to prove this. It does seem to have an English or Continental 'feel' about the quality. English made, SE Asian, Nepalese, have been suggested by more than one source. Any ideas or comments are most welcome. Kind Regards, Runjeet |
