Default BKS Wootz Symposium

hello all

Every year the Belgian Knife's Society organizes a knifeshow in Belgium. The show (11, 12 and 13 november 2011 / town of Gembloux) covers all aspects of knifemaking (handmade knives / materials / tools / books / ...). As a non profit society, our aim is to give craftsmen and visitors the possibility to exchange. Every year we also have a central theme related to knives / metallurgy. This year, our central theme is Wootz.

We were thinking of showing different aspects of wootz to the public / grouping wootz expert and having some interesting interactions. Possible themes are:
- old weapons (exhibition of ancient wootz artefacts + expert seminars)
- technical aspects: elaboration of wootz (theory + practice), metallurgic aspects, ancient and modern techniques, restoration of wootz, ...

It would interest me a lot to find out about your suggestions / thoughts on this symposium. In short: what would you find interesting / important during such a symposium? What is important for us: both broad and specialized visitors / participants can be expected to visit.

Thanks for your feedback!

For the MODS: I am not sure if this is the right spot / if it is allowed on the forum. If not: let me know and I will remove this post.
