Barong
I have recently acquired this antique barong... here is a picture:
http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/9797/barong21.jpg It seems pretty good. The wooden handle is beautiful with a thin crack. The ferrule is wiggly and rotates, but when I swing it, and sometimes I swung it hard, the blade did not wiggle one bit. The blade has several little dings and chips. It has a very thin layer of rust on it, and I'm not sure if that's ok, but my gut feeling tells me it'll be fine as long as it don't get wet. It's blade is about 13 or 14" long, but I don't have a ruler. Edge is thin. Blade seems to have a slight concavity in the heart of it, below the spine, and above the edge where it thickens slightly. However it doesn't seem to be a shandigan. Seems good quality to me, maybe worth a restoration and a sheath made for it. Shipping cost is included for continental USA. Alaska, Hawaii, and internationals, please ask and I will add on a bit to accommodate longer distance shipping. If you have any questions or requests, please ask. PM or email (kukulza28@yahoo.com) to claim. First one to claim and pay, gets it. Paypal preferred, but money order is fine too. Unlikely to accept trades. Antique Barong ---- $120 |
