WHAT IS THIS HELMET?

I have been looking in another book to see if I could find a similar black leather example. Plenty of basket ware examples and pangolin/armadillo skin examples. That does not mean black leather was not used. If you look very hard you can see that the Naga warriors helmet also has the central stitched seam. It certainly has absolutely nothing to do with Cromwells sappers .
