			Dear All,

I got this tip of a scabbard. Itīs made of bronze or similar material. the flat backsite hat two wholes for beeing fixed. It consists of two peaces (frontside and flat backsite) which are solded by a white metal (lead / pewter or so). I would have more expected brass welding, but donīt know. The size is pretty small ~4cm long. Does anyone have an idea of the age of the piece and if it would have belonged to a sword or a dagger? With its width of 2.9cm, I assume it is rather made for a dagger than a sword, although it would still fit a sword tip, but when adding wood and leather itīs likely getting tight. Kind regards Andreas Last edited by AHorsa; 12th April 2024 at 11:09 PM. |
