Canary Islands Naife
Hello All,
I recently acquired this knife, identified by the seller simply as North African, late 19th to early 20th C. The leaf shaped blade is 5 ¼ inches in length and is decorated with a punched-style floral pattern. The multilayer hilt is the really spectacular part. It is very tight and in excellent condition. Overall, the knife is 10 inches. The scabbard is leather and all stitching intact. Based on the following thread from 2009, I provisionally identify it as originating in the Canary Islands. Interesting Spanish Canary Islands ... Or maybe it is from somewhere else? Your wise commentary, forumites? Thank you. Dave A. |
