Budapest Military Museum
During my recent trip to Budapest I visited Military Museum and Persian Art exhibit at the Museum of Applied Arts. I expected more from the Military Museum and hoped to see some Ottoman weapons, but it was quite poor in terms of old edged weapons, in fact there were just a few swords, all pictured below:-). The exhibition, on the other hand, was interesting, small but it was first one in Hungary representing Qajar artwork (http://www.museum.hu/museum/temporar...DT=10515&ID=31 ). It showed objects of Persian art ranging from miniatures to metalwork, including arms and armour. The majority of the material represented the taste of an urban middle-class clientele, but there were some unpublished examples belonged to Qajar court art. Picture taking was strictly prohibited so I took some pictures from an exhibition catalogue.
