				 | Late 15th Century Haquebuts at the Vienna Arsenal

Hi Alexander, Thank you for posting these! These late 15th century haquebuts are preserved at the Vienna Arsenal (Heeresgeschichtliches Museum Wien). Sadly, their original oaken stocks were cleaned crudely in the 1960's, and as a result look brand new now. Also some of the barrels were treated with acid which completely destroyed their original surfaces. I will post better photos that I took in 1990. Best, Michael Leave old surfaces and patina alone!!! |
