Hi All The jambiya arrived today and it is one sweet piece of steel The hilt and upper part of the scabbard are heavy silver with brass herring bone chain and brass lower half. The blade is still quite sharp with a convex edge. The wood underneath the silver is either ebony or African blackwood. The whole package is quite heavy about 2 pounds or more. I will take some better pics this weekend to post I cleaned up the silver today and it came out real nice. Funny thing the belt has a zippered pouch on the inside with a YKK zipper so I figure 1950 for the belt but the dagger could be older. Lew |
