Khyber Knife
G'day Guys,
I recently acquired this nice Khyber knife. The grips are walrus ivory and the 42cm blade looks to be made of nice Persian wootz. The scabbard is long gone, but the silver scabbard fittings are still with it. I don't know very much about these things, but I have acquired a few nice wootz pieces over the years and could see enough to know that this was once a high status object. Can anybody shed any more light on it for me? Cheers, Bryce |

This is a very nice example of an Indian made khyber knife, one of the nicest that I have seen in fact. Congratulations on your purchase. Here are my two for reference |

The graceful, subtle recurve of the blade is quite attractive, and not particularly common, in my limited experience.
