Default Large Batangas knife/short sword

From the Batangas/Lake Taal area of Luzon in the Philippines. The slightly recurved blade measures 14 inches in length and has "JC" stamped within a square just below the hilt. This mark is well known, and stands for "Jesu Christo" (Jesus Christ). It is indicative of the Batangas/Lake Taal region. The hexagonal wooden hilt is marked with transverse grooves on all surfaces, and the pommel is a horse hoof style. There is a very small iron ferrule, narrower in width than the rest of the hilt. The ferrrule and hilt are also consistent with a Batangas/Lake Taal origin. The wooden scabbard is intact although missing some of its rattan strips.

Age is hard to assess. Probably WWII vintage.

Overall length in scabbard: 21.25 in.
Length of hilt: 6 in.
Length of blade: 14 in.

Price: USD 225.00 plus shipping and insurance from Australia.

PayPal preferred please.
