Another medieval sword
The Danube most be bloked with fine medieval artifacts. Someone has thier hands on a huge cache of arms from all lands and times. Bwana make plenty hongo.

I dont believe that blade is 800 years old.Looks artificially corroded. Not natural.Too fresh and healthy for that age.Funny.That team is expert in manufacturing, opss sorry ; "excavating" unlimited,infinitive number of perfect, authentical looking bronze weapons, but when it comes to steel and iron, they are quiet back from that level.

You guys don't get to the rivers of Europe very much I guess .
Didn't you know about the huge wooden barge that has as its bottom one gigantic electro magnet ? It is towed up and down all the rivers of Europe and the U.K. ; they're hauling a good ton and a half of relatively pristine ancient swords per week from the depths to supply the auction houses of the world . It's an industry ! |

Since it's a holiday weekend and I'm probably the only one stuck at home and in here I would like to ask you all as an ex moderator <ducks> to please keep the comments on the object rather than the Seller .

Thanks, Rick. Indeed, comments need to be limited to the merits/qualities (or lack of them) of the sword. Let people draw what conclusions they would about the seller (or just limit that discussion to PM or e-mail).
About the rivers in Europe - better than 2,000 years of martial history along rivers such such as the Danube, Thames, Loire, Seine, etc., I'm sure has lead to a lot of hardware falling in the rivers. The reason why stuff gets pullout of the Thames and Danube (and probably others) is that they regularly dredge the shipping channels. So stuff turning up in rivers, per se, isn't so outrageous. Based on people's comments, this particular sword seems to have "issues," though. |
