This is a classy shamshir, no doubt. I am especially fascinated by the flamboyant crossguard: never seen one like it in any book on Turkish or Persian weapons. Somehow, it rings a bell. Polish? Hungarian? |

yes The crossguard was extreamly heavy gilded. I do not see this type often. that one went to china ward |

I liked it verry much, but forgot to bid.
![]() I was also wondering about that style of crossguard, wich apears verry tastefull to my exes. The only other one I saw with that style is pictured in the polish book Orez Perski. I also think that it is eastern europe, polish origin. Nice damascus pattern also, still regret for not getting that beauty. ![]() |
