			Hi Stefan,

Looks like a decent one. The blade looks heavy and well-forged. There are so many types of this dagger and many possible origins too. This one looks Iraqi to me and not very old, based on the type and condition of the scabbard. The expert on those is Kubur. Wait to see if he reacts. Anyway, these daggers are still made in much the same way as before and are still bought and worn. I love them because they have simple elegance and brutal functionality-features missing in most later middle eastern daggers. I have a very similar one with same bolsters, but on grounds of scabbard and blade quality, I would rate yours as better. Notice that the way the hilt is made is a bit different. |

The scabbard could be much younger as the dagger, coudn't it? Regards, Detlef |

Difficult to date but yours looks Iraqi from 1920-1950ties. They are still produced, one member posted a very good video. The scabbard is coherent with the dagger. |
