PRIMER FLASK for COMMENT
This nice little Primer flask also came with the Knee Pistol. Beautifully decorated with enamel inlays over brass, and in excellent working condition. Complete with a "ladder style" chain.
There is a very similar flask shown on Page 34 Fig 14B of Tirri's book. He does not attribute this style to any particular region. Any ideas Gentlemen? Stu |

I would go with Moroccan/Algerian ...The outer border appears to be Evil Eye repeat pattern. It appears to have had 5 danglers at some point...Talismanic.

Salaams Ibrahiim,
I agree probably North African and Tirri suggested the same though not positive about origin. The pic in his book also shows attachments????for danglers---certainly very similar looking to mine. I had not noticed the "evil eye" decoration----again you are probably right as it certainly closely resembles the evil eye. Stu |

Hi Stu.
WOW!! That is a tiny flask. Only about 2 1/2" in diameter. Obviously for priming. The round body and spring/lever style of spout are similar to European flasks from the 16th/17th Century. My guess is also Moroccan or Algerian. But yes, pretty sure North African - somewhere. LOL I really like the decoration. Very cool little priming flask. QUESTION: What is that plug or ? next to the spout ?? Rick |

Well, that was also my first guess - a fill plug. Could not think of anything else it would be. LOL Yes, very neat priming flask. Nice find. Rick |
