For sharing and coment 3 hilts

Hello,

Since last week I have 3 new keris , I like to share the hilts from them with you .
The hilts are nicely carved and i suspect that the middle one (Ganes /makara ?) and the raksasa on the right are the oldest one,s the one on the left is nice but imo younger .

nice to see you here again!

I like special the handle in the middle, what is the used material? Would like to see the complete keris, not so many Tegal keris was posted in the last time. Also curious to see the Cirebon ones.

Hello Danny,
Like Detlef I would love to see the blades & sheaths also.

The hilt on the right may be an old piece from Banten, please check on the Krisdisk from K.S. Jensen.

It,s nice to have time again to collect/study and nice to be ''back''
It was not mine intention to show the keris and the blade,s because the are not ready, the need a cleaning and maybe also a staining .

But because it,s you

. I did take some pictures of the Tegal keris i had to do it with artifical light so for now this is the best i can do .

The hilt material is wood , it has a open structure .
The blade is a old one and IMO it looks like a segaluh blade it,s dirty and i hope i can make it look more nice next summer .
The mendak is old and looks like brons ( bronze- brass )

Hello Jean ,

Yes I have to look it up on the keris disk , but after moving to our new house i first have to find the disk it is somewhere in a box with the books etc..

Yes, it's a horrible time now for pictures and humans in our area.

I just fall in love with your keris, acceptable honest blade for this age (agree with you, look like segaluh), very unusual wrongko and a more unusual hilt. And so far I can see is all fitting.

Congrats for this find and I am sure that you will take good care for it.

seems that we agree here. May I ask you if "Teratai" is the specific name of this wrongko form?

And do you have a clue which wood was used for the ukiran?

I don't know if the "teratai" tag is a correct Tegal name for this type of wrongko or not, but I have heard a few people use this name over the years.

No idea at all what the wood might be.
