This item just ended in the Ebay and I have a question about the age. The seller told that is from WWII, but the inscription is in spanish language. Is possible that dagger was a souvenir to a spanish soldier (Philipp-spanish war ) not to WWII ? .
Thanks in advance carlos |

I would say that this piece is pre-WWII and is Ilocano. Spanish was the common language at the time of the turn of the century and I would even say that this was a Philippine revolutionary piece. You got it for a good price (I watched the auction). Not given to a Spanish soldier.

According to Merriam Webster dictionary, requerdo means:

hola, carlos!
![]() "i.n." stands for ilocos norte province by the way. and "laoag" would be its economic and political center. "lozon" [should be "luzon"] is of course where the province is located. |
