I've been researching this knife which I recently purchased, but other than a vague description of 'Mexican plantation knife' I haven't been able to identify it. I know I've seen this distinctive handle shape before, but years ago and I can't recall whether it was brazillian, 'colonial' spanish or Mexican. Does anyone here recognize this type of knife?

			Hello,

as far as I know this kind of knife is called Sorocabana, named after the city Sorocaba in Brasil. Here is a link that might give some information: http://www.knifeco.ppg.br/origens.htm Best regards, Helge |
