				 | Cartouches - Persian?

Hello All, Here is a picture of a section of a blade I am looking at buying. I am trying to identify if it is Persian or something else...Any leads appreciated, will eventually upload more detailed pics. Thanks in advance, Jon B Last edited by Jon MB; 20th April 2018 at 06:41 PM. |

“Boxed” fullering looks Afghani. They had Persian blades, NW Indian Persianised ones, local ones with Persian inscriptions. Persian was the Lingua Franca of that realm. The so-called Pulwar is called Shamshir in Afghanistan. Perhaps with full pics it might be possible to approach the origin of this blade, but I doubt it. |

Thank you Ariel. I will upload more when I have the piece in hand. Could you also cast you expert eyes over my other thread called 'Polish or Russian sabre'? Thanks in advance

The saber you refer to is a regulation European weapon. This is totally outside my interests and knowledge. Sorry for not being able to add even 5 cents worth...
