Default Exhibition ‘Treasures of the Kremlin' in Dresden

I have visited yesterday a new exhibition in the Royal Palace of Dresden ‘Treasures of the Kremlin from Ivan the Terrible to Peter the Great’:
http://www.skd.museum/en/special-exh...ent/index.html
There are many really stunning Ottoman, Persian and Russian arms and armor pieces! Two printed catalogues of the exhibition (full, 328 pages, and a small, with highlights) are available: ‘Zwischen Orient und Okzident: Kunstschätze des Kreml von Iwan dem Schrecklichen bis Peter dem Großen’.
Also, on February 19 the European collection of the Dresdner Armory will be presented in the same palace in a new hall:

And the famous Türckische Cammer

is there as well, making a visit to the Royal Palace of Dresden a must!

Wow, thanks for posting those! It's improbable that I'll be able to find the occasion for going in person, but I can't wait to show the photos to my girlfriend. She's Russian and I'm sure she'll love it. Awesomely detailed and exquisite craftmanship on those pieces! Just wow!

You're lucky to have seen it in person!

All the best, - Thor

Hi Tatyana,
Thank you for the message, it sounds very interesting, but you live much closer that I do - unfortunately.
I once saw an exhibition in London showing some of Fabergé's items - fantastic. Did you know that Moser's father, a Swiss watch maker living in Sct Petersburg, worked together with Fabergé? The royal Danish family had quite a number of items on exhibition then, as one of the Danish princesses was Zarina in Russia.

Hi Jens,
I've had a very good picture book on the Faberge jewellery - great work indeed! But what is even more interesting, is the fact that the very same Royal Palace in Dresden has two(!) treasure galleries, where absolutely stunning jeweller's work can be seen!
