Default Moroccan sa'if help please

Hi, I'm David and 'brand new' here. If you could help I'd be most appreciative. I have this sword. It supposedly was given by a particular French officer in 1813 - 1816 to someone who settled in Australia. It was in a house fire about 40 years ago which could contribute to its poor condition. Many thanks in anticipation
David

Ooooh - Shiney!

Nice nimcha. distinctive hilt. did you clean it up?

they seem to be made with a variety of european blades. try doing a forum search here on nimcha for loads of info. even a google on nimcha brings up loads.

here's one from the maritime museum in london:

i've wanted one of those for ages, but always seem to lose out on the auctions....ah well, always next time.
