Shandigan Barong
I am receiving/holding some pieces from a friend in Europe who will be visiting me soon. I asked his permission to post these.
It is a very interesting Shandigan Barong with 14.5 inch patterned blade. Overall length is 21.5 inches. Tarnished silver ferrule. |

Thanks, folks!
This blade is really interesting: Those shandigan barongs which I've seen had pretty evenly forged/grinded blades while this one has a kind of submarginal fuller all along the edge enclosing what appears to be a less deeply carved central area. Has anybody encountered any barong resembling one of these features? BTW, Michael: Congrats for getting that Bayu - I want pics of that one, too! Regards, Kai |
