I bought this knife at an auction in Scotland about 12 years ago, recently (though this web site) discovered that it may be a Tumbuk Lada. Can anyone provide any other information (guesses are ok with me) on where/when?
I have larger pictures (more detail) but could not upload, if you would like to see them just ask. Thanks Steve |

What I can tell you is the "silver" looking mounts appear to be acutally white metal, also known as "german silver" or "nickel silver".

By silver looking mounts are you refering to the scabbard? Sorry if I don't seem to know anything....it is because I don't and bought the knife because I liked it as opposed to any knowledge.

Hi Steve,
That's a nice one for a starter. Tumbok Lada. It comes from Sumatra. That's the where. When? If I look at the whole piece, I would say it has some age. I guess pre 1900. |
